This morning when I got up I was so excited to go to the ropes course! I had never really done anything like it so I was PUMPED. When we got there we played a few small games to really get comfortable with our newly formed team then we took a break for lunch. Then we moved to the bigger obstacles and I did all of them! I did things I never thought I would do and had a blast getting to know everyone better. We all worked as a team and it was awesome! TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK :)

When I first heard that we were going to participate in a ropes course, I was super excited! I had never experienced a high ropes course, so I was curious as to what it would be like. When our group had arrived there, we played a few small games to get to know each other more. After that, we moved on to the more challenging obstacles, which were extremely difficult, yet fun! My favorite obstacle was jumping off a very tall pole while I was blindfolded. It was definitely scary, but I surprisingly had a great time! All of us worked as a team and gave support to one another by cheering each other throughout each obstacle. Overall, this day has been absolutely amazing and YLOK has been such an amazing experience so far. I have already made so many friends, and, each day, we are all getting closer. I'm really glad to be a part of such a great group and I can't wait to see what thrilling activities are in store for us! :) Oh, and Angel is awesome.

I climbed near the top of the pamper pole, shaking along with the tall, windblown piece of lumber. When I reached the top of it, I was to leap off and reach for a buoy, completely trusting the person who held my rope. My new friends shouted encouragement. "You can do it! I know you can!" I finally stood up on top of that pole and looked down. I would have never been able to do this if I hadn't come to YLOK. Already it's the experience of a lifetime. I smiled, closed my eyes, and jumped.
Today we went to the OU High Ropes course and learned many new things such as teamwork, encouragement, overcoming your fears, and just getting to know one another. I've made great friends so quickly, and I've had experiences such as learning the basics of a high ropes course and getting to hear about the Sarkey Foundation. It's all a lot to take in; it's all incredible... and it's only day two.
